Enjoyed its very flexible and helpful staff.
Had really really nice stay for our Hobbiton visit and the weather was sunny. The room was very separate, comfy bed. A bathtub in the functional bathroom was a plus. The location was central, handy to several area attractions. The lunch in Chuy's close to the hotel had every choice imaginable.

Enjoyed its very amiable and really friendly staff.
The room we booked was brand-new and great little with electric blankets. A microwave, an electric kettle, and a refrigerator were a plus.

1. Location: loved the "country-like" setting with the beautiful grounds yet we were only 1 km to "downtown" Matamata (we were easily able to walk into town) & only 2 km to the Matamata i-Site: because of the location, it was nice and quiet for sleeping yet close enough to walk to town 2. Friendliness & helpfulness of the managers Terry & Karen 3. Plenty of space for 3 of us (married couple + friend) & fabulous utilization of space: 2 twin beds in "main" room with small dining room & kitchenette (including refrigerator & microwave); separate bathroom; separate bedroom with queen-size bed. Linens & towels provided as well as toiletries (soap, shampoo). Also very clean. 4. Great value for the great accommodations: we are sorry our schedule did not permit us to stay 2 nights -- we had only 1 night in this great place
No "cons" - we loved everything

The service was exceptional, and the free parking outside was a great perk - I would definitely return.

Location is great, only a few minutes away from town centre but closer to nature, golf, spa and waterfall. Generous amount of coffee, tea and sugar. Owner provided special milk for coffee and/or tea. It has fridge, microwave and electric kettle for coffee and tea. sufficient towels, plates, glasses and cutlery were also provided
if only the location could be 5 to 10 meters further away from the road to avoid the noises from auto passing by.

The friendly greeting on arrival: The proprietors, Karen and Terry, are the epitome of Kiwi hospitality. Location: Close to all attractions and services. Accomodation: Easy, down-home feel. The grounds:I would love to see the roses in bloom and the majestic poplars in full foliage during summer/autumn. We were here in early spring, when the open-space lawns and seasonal blooms gave promise to the next season. The children's playground and turtle doves; yes a pair of well-mannered, snow white doves do add to the charm. The motorbikes: Terry is a collector, and is happy to show and tell. You may even be invited to take a ride in the side-car, surprisingly comfortable for a first-timer like me.

The location was marvellous, a 10-15 minute walking distance from an observation wheel. You could walk to all the major shops and supermarkets. Loved how the king studio was arranged when we arrived.
